ElShorbagy Pulls Out Due To Illness

England’s Mohamed ElShorbagy has pulled of this evening’s British Open third round match against USA’s Timothy Brownell due to illness.

The three-time champion’s withdrawal means that Brownell is awarded a walkover and he will now become the first man from the United States to compete in the quarter-finals of the British Open.

Brownell will play either World No.4 Mostafa Asal or ElShorbagy’s younger brother, Marwan, in the last eight.

This evening’s schedule has been amended as a result, with the match between World Champion Nouran Gohar and Hong Kong’s Tomato Ho being pushed back to 18:00 (GMT+1).

New Schedule

18:00   [3] Nouran Gohar (EGY) v Tomato Ho (HKG)

19:30   [6] Georgina Kennedy (ENG) v Fayrouz Aboelkheir (EGY)

20:15   [4] Mostafa Asal (EGY) v Marwan Elshorbagy (ENG)
