The British Open Masters Squash Championships 2022 will return to Hull next year and feature alongside the Allam British Open – a PSA World Tour Platinum event – at Hull’s Allam Sport Centre from 28th March to 3rd April.
Masters events are for players aged 35 and over and cater for male and female entrants, with a range of events, beginning with the over 35 tournament all the way up to an over 80 event. The British Open Masters Squash Championships is the oldest and most established tournament in masters squash and is widely considered to be one of the two most prestigious tournaments, alongside the World Masters.
The 2021 edition of the event took place at Colets Health and Leisure Club earlier this month due to the COVID-19 pandemic but will make its triumphant return to the impressive Allam Sport Centre facility next year.
“Past winners of British Open Masters titles include some of the greatest names in the history of squash.
“We at England Squash Masters are delighted to work with the PSA to showcase this iconic event alongside the outstanding players of today,” said Stuart Hardy, Chairman England Squash Masters.
“We are delighted to welcome the Masters back to compete alongside the PSA players in Hull.
“The British Open has historically been the tournament where squash players & fans annually meet up with old friends, making it a very sociable & enjoyable event. Having the Masters there will help us build on that atmosphere for everyone that attends,” said Tim Garner, PSA Events Director.
