No.3 Seed Hania El Hammamy Withdraws Due To Injury

World No.3 and former British Open champion Hania El Hammamy has withdrawn from the GillenMarkets British Open 2025 due to injury.

World No.5 Amina Orfi replaces El Hammamy as a 3/4 seed and occupies her spot in the draw. Orfi will now sit in the same half as World No.1 Nouran Gohar.

USA’s Amanda Sobhy has now become a top eight seed and will receive a bye in round one. She is in the same quarter as World Champion Nour ElSherbini and will face either Malak Khafagy or Lucy Beecroft in her opening match in round two.

Egypt’s Farida Mohamed has become a top 16 seed to replaces Amanda Sobhy and receives a bye. She’ll be up against fellow Egyptian and 9/16 seed Sana Ibrahim in round two.

Nour Aboulmakarim replaces Farida Mohamed and plays Hana Moataz in round one whilst a Lucky Loser from qualifying replaces Nour Aboulmakarim and plays Salma Eltayeb in the opening round.
