We’ve reached the third round stage of the 2023 British Open and play moves over to the spectacular Birmingham Rep today, with eight exciting matches in store.
Both of the England No.1s – Mohamed ElShorbagy and Sarah-Jane Perry – are in action today. Bristol-based ElShorbagy will go up against the dangerous former World No.1 Karim Abdel Gawad as he bids to reach the quarter-finals and continue his quest for the World No.1 spot.
Perry, meanwhile, takes on Nada Abbas for a place in the last eight.
Last year’s runners-up – Ali Farag and Nouran Gohar – will also take to the court today and they face Mohamed ElSherbini and Nele Gilis, respectively.
Play begins at 12:00 (GMT+1) with No.6 seed Rowan Elaraby up against Hong Kong’s Tomato Ho, while the final match of the day is scheduled for 20:15 and will see former World Champion Tarek Momen line up against Spain’s Iker Pajares Bernabeu.
All of the action will be broadcast live on SQUASHTV, while squash fans can also stay up to date with live scores here.
